Northern School of Contemporary Dance - ‘New Grounds’

I signed onto a short term contract at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where I worked with choreographer Amaury Lebrun to design and source costumes for about 17 students.
I met with the choreographer shortly before the contract started to discuss his ideas, context and overall visual goals. Here we discussed punk/classic/absract silhouettes, with a monotone colour palette, inspired by the artist ‘Paul Wiener’.
Following our discussion I gathered some research boards and created a Moodboard which I presented to the choreographer, we then talked about which parts we like and where to go next. We also gathered a range of costumes from the schools existing stock to get a visual idea of what we were looking at.
Once we had an overall image, Moodboard, we agreed on I went to sketches and sourcing.
The remainder of my work there consisted of fittings, sourcing, alterations and watching the tech run.
